ekla (M) Sdn Bhd and VNIX Pte Ltd have teamed up to offer a one-stop solution for
building information modelling (BIM) that uses computer modelling to simulate the
development, construction and operation of a facility.
Tekla (M) managing director Ari Nassi said Tekla Structures is a three-dimensional
BIM software used in the building and construction industries to create, open, combine
and manage data rich and highly constructable 3D structural models to enable engineers
and constructors to navigate around them in realtime and review the model using
tools in the software.
The Tekla Structures BIM encompasses specialised configurations for structural engineers,
steel detailers and fabricators, concretre detailers and manufacturers, and construction
companies.
With BIM, VNIX managing director David Lim added, the efficiency of the conventional
two-dimensional computer aided design drafting has been greatly improved as it enables
the production of "highly accurate" 3D models that can be translated into design,
presentation and construction drawings with quick turnaround time.
"The web-based drawing management system enhances our service delivery to clients,
thus facilitating information transfer between the client and the drafting team
from any location", Lim said.
