Zaharuddin Saidon is the new man at the helm of TH Properties Sdn Bhd (THP). He takes over from Datuk Syed Mohamed Syed Ibrahim, who left the company in February this year.
In a statement, THP said Syed Mohamed has taken up the challenge of spearheading the development of Madinah Knowledge Economic City in Saudi Arabia.
Zaharuddin's appointment as the company's new chief executive officer took effect on March 1.
Described as "no stranger" to the organisation, THP said Zaharuddin is a pioneering member of the company and has served in various capacities since he came onboard in 1997.
He was previously the general manager of THP's Solution Creation Department, where he was involved in the conceptualisation and development of the company's flagship project, the RM9.2 billion Bandar Enstek township near the Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang.
Zaharuddin is qualified in multiple disciplines and holds an MBA in Finance, Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in Islamic Studies. He did his tertiary studies in Australia and the United Kingdom.
He is also a member of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia and an ISO 9001:2000 Quality Lead Assessor.
Prior to joining THP, Zaharuddin worked with Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd, Shell Marketing Co of Borneo and SPPK Sdn Bhd.
THP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lembaga Tabung Haji, the pilgrims' fund management institution under the purview of the Prime Minister's Department, and is mainly involved in the development of large-scale planned communities and townships.
The company, which has positioned itself as a "solution-centric developer", is currently focusing its attention on the 5,116-acre Bandar Enstek, a knowledge-based township that blends high-tech residential, commercial and industrial buildings within a green environment.
